We are proud to announce that Pegasus, Rancho Solano’s student-led literary magazine, has been recognized as a REALM First Class magazine by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) in the Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) Contest. This distinction is the highest honor awarded in the competition and highlights the outstanding creativity, writing, and artistic expression of our students.
This year, 422 student magazines from schools in 46 states and five countries were submitted to the REALM contest. Only 125 magazines received the prestigious REALM First Class designation, making this a remarkable achievement for Pegasus and our talented student contributors.
The REALM program celebrates excellence in student literary magazines and encourages schools worldwide to foster artistic and literary expression. The recognition of Pegasus reflects the dedication of our students and faculty in creating a platform for storytelling, poetry, visual arts, and creative writing.
“I am incredibly proud of my editorial leadership and of all the student writers and artists at Rancho Solano whose work is featured in this publication. Words cannot express my appreciation of the artistic and aesthetic abilities of the amazing young people I am honored to teach!” said Mrs. Pamela McCarty, IB English Literature Teacher, and Pegasus Advisor.
We extend our congratulations to the entire Pegasus team for this incredible honor and look forward to seeing their continued creativity and innovation in future editions!
