For the second consecutive season, the Rancho Solano Varsity Volleyball team has qualified for the AIA 2A State Tournament! The 6th Seeded Mustangs are led by a strong group of experience players, Seniors Lindsey Belgrad and Grace Berry, Juniors Amanda Koath, Luci Roberts, and Mehek Sumar, and Sophomore Bela Potocnjak. Koath, Potocnjak, and Sumar have become one of the top trios of hitters in the state, with Koath ranking 4th in Kills/Set, Sumar ranking 5th in Kill % and Potcnjak ranking in the top 25 in both Kill% and Kills. The Mustangs also have one of the best Setters in 2A at their disposal in Roberts, who is ranked 6th in 2A in Assists and 11th in Aces.
This season has been a record setting one with over 15 individual and team school records being set. The #6 team ranking is the highest seed in school history and the Mustangs have set a school record for wins in a season with 20. The Mustangs open State Tournament play on Friday, Nov. 8 at North High School (1101 E Thomas Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85014 at 11:00am and would play at 7:00pm also at North High School) with a win. Admission is $10 for Adults and $5 for Students with a Student ID.
